The Story:
A darker cousin to ALMOST, MAINE, John Cariani’s play, LOVE/SICK is a collection of nine slightly twisted and completely hilarious short plays. Set on a Friday night in an alternate suburban reality, this 90-minute romp explores the pain and the joy that comes with being in love. Full of imperfect lovers and dreamers, LOVE/SICK is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.
The Buzz:
“Beautiful, committed performances last night by the cast of Love/Sick at Pacific Theatre. Slick, clear, inventive direction by Jamie King - never gets in the way, always supports the story. Grounded, funny, heartbreaking. Bravo to Jalen Saip, Matthew MacDonald-Bain, Lucy McNulty and the entire cast and crew. Ron Reed you have some major talent on your hands.”
“...What an exquisite production! Heart-breakingly beautiful performances, excellent design, and absolutely inspired direction... I laughed loads, held my breath, and shed more than a few tears. So much love and humanity squeezed into one little show! In one scene, I found myself laughing and crying at the same time, overcome by the intensity of connection I felt to these beautiful people.”
